Your booking for an assisted theory test or practical driving test must be cancelled no later than the second-last business day before the test, if you are to avoid being charged for the test.
If you are unable to take the assisted theory test or practical driving test you have booked, you need to cancel the booking no later than the second-last business day before the test, to avoid being charged for the test.
Business days are Monday to Friday
This normally means that a driving test booked for a
- Monday, must be cancelled no later than Thursday
- Tuesday, must be cancelled no later than Friday
- Wednesday, must be cancelled no later than Monday
- Thursday, must be cancelled no later than Tuesday
- Friday, must be cancelled no later than Wednesday
You can cancel on Your Page right up until the last minute before midnight.
Public holidays are not business days
That is, such holidays come in addition to the two business days.
The following are public holidays:
- Easter: Maundy Thursday, Good Friday and Easter Monday.
- Christmas: Christmas Day and Boxing Day (25 and 26 December)
- New Year: New Year's Day (1 January)
- Pentecost: Whit Monday
- Also: Ascension Day, Labour Day (1 May) and Constitution Day (17 May)
For example, if you have booked a test for the Tuesday after Easter, you must cancel the test no later than on Tuesday the week before to avoid having to pay the test fee.
If 17 May is a Wednesday and you have booked a test for the day after, you must cancel the test no later than on Monday to avoid having to pay the test fee.
This fee must be paid in its entirety
You must pay the full fee for the assisted theory test or practical driving test, if you do not show up or do not cancel the booking within the deadline.
The fee must be paid before you can book a new test.
Did you fall sick on the day of the test?
If you have a medical certificate confirming that you were sick at the time of the test, you may not have to pay. Send us the medical certificate together with a short application for exemption from fee payment.
