What can you drive with a Category D driving licence?
With a Category D driving licence, you can drive a bus that is approved for more than 8 passengers.
You must be at least 24 years old and hold a driving licence for Category B to get a Category D licence.
You may be younger than 24 if you are undergoing or have completed mandatory training for a Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC).

Bus
You can drive a bus that is approved for more than 8 passengers. It can be more than 8 metres long.
You can drive an articulated bus.
A Category D driving licence is also valid for minibuses. In your driving licence, this is marked as Category D1.
Bus with trailer
You can tow a trailer with a maximum authorised mass of up to 750 kg.
If you wish to tow a heavier trailer, you need to get Category DE.
With a Category D licence acquired before 1 January 1997 (code 132)
You can tow a trailer with a maximum authorised mass of up to 2,000 kg in Norway.
You can tow trailed equipment with a maximum authorised mass of up to 3,500 kg in Norway.
Outside Norway, you can tow a trailer or trailed equipment with a maximum authorised mass of no more than 750 kg.
Motorised equipment
With a Category D licence acquired before 1 January 2005 (code 140)
You can drive motorised equipment without limitations in terms of weight or speed capacity.
