What can you drive with a Category D1 driving licence?
With a Category D1 driving licence, you can drive a minibus that is approved for up to 16 passengers.
You must be at least 21 years old and hold a driving licence for Category B to get a Category D1 licence.
You may be younger than 21 if you are undergoing or have completed mandatory training for a Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC).
Information about a vehicle or trailer, such as its maximum authorised mass, can be found in the Vehicle Registration Certificate.
Minibus
You can drive a minibus that is approved for between 9 and 16 passengers. It can be up to 8 metres long.
Minibus with trailer
You can tow a trailer if it has a maximum authorised mass of no more than 750 kg.
If you wish to tow a trailer of more than 750 kg, you need to get a Category D1E driving licence.
