What can you drive with a Category A1 driving licence?

You can ride a light motorcycle with or without a sidecar. The motorcycle can have a cylinder capacity of up to 125 cm³ and a power output of up to 11 kW.

You can drive a motorcycle with three wheels and a power output of up to 15 kW.

You can drive a moped with two, three or four wheels.

If the moped has three or four wheels and an unladen weight of more than 150 kg, you must be at least 18 years old. If the moped is electrically powered, the batteries should not be included in the moped’s unladen weight.

In your driving licence, this is marked as Category AM.

With a Category A1 licence acquired before 1 July 2006

You can drive a snowmobile with or without a trailer sledge. 

In your driving licence, this is marked as Category S. 

The driving entitlement for snowmobiles is only valid in Norway and Sweden.
