Order a new driving licence with a code showing your Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC).

In Norway, a Driver CPC is issued by inserting Code 95 in box 12 on the back of your driving licence. The code may look like this: 95(01.09.25). If this is written next to Category C, this means that your Driver CPC for lorries expires on 1 September 2025.

You can renew your driving licence when you have completed the initial qualification course and passed the CPC theory test, and when you have undergone periodic training and the course organiser has registered your training with us. You can do this on Your Page. Log in to Your Page.

You can also renew your licence at a Driver and Vehicle Licensing Office (trafikkstasjon). You need to book an appointment before you go.

If you have heavy vehicle licence categories that are about to expire, we recommend that you renew these at the same time.

Do you have a separate Driver Qualification Card?

If you do not have a Norwegian driving licence, and you have a Driver CPC in the form of a Driver Qualification Card, you have to renew your card at a Driver and Vehicle Licensing Office (trafikkstasjon). You can do so when you have undergone periodic training at a course organizing establishment in Norway, and the course organiser has registered your training with us. You need to bring valid proof of identity and your old Driver Qualification Card.

You need to book an appointment if you want to renew your Driver Qualification Card at a Driver and Vehicle Licensing Office.

You will receive confirmation when your application has been registered.

Regardless of how you apply, you will receive confirmation to your digital postbox. If you do not have a digital postbox, we will send the confirmation letter to your address in the National Population Register.

If you hand in your application at a Driver and Vehicle Licensing Office, you will receive written confirmation at the counter, showing that we have registered your application.
