How to acquire a PCV licence
When you have passed the theory test, you will receive your taxi driver CPC. You can then apply to the police for a PCV driving licence.

In order to apply for a PCV licence, you must meet the following requirements:
- You must be at least 20 years of age and have held a driving licence for an uninterrupted period of at least two years.
- You must be in good health and submit a health certificate with your application.
- You must have a good conduct history (background check). The police make a background check (conduct history) of applicants.
- You must document that you have sufficient professional competence.
The CPC for taxi drivers is documentation that you have the professional expertise you need as a taxi driver.
