Submit a Notification of Sale on behalf of a seller
You can submit a Notification of Sale on behalf of another person or company, but you must document that you have the right to do so.
You can submit a Notification of Sale on behalf of a seller if, for example, you are transferring the ownership of a car, or the company that owns the car has gone bankrupt. You need to be able to provide documentation that you have the right to represent the other party.
How to do it
When you log in to Your Page (using your own BankID or similar), you must first choose who to represent and then find the vehicle that is for sale.
You must also upload documentation proving that you have the right to represent the seller. What documentation you need to submit depends on who you will be representing. Examples:
- confirmation/authorisation from the seller
- probate certificate
- certificate of undivided possession of estate
- documentation from enforcement authority
- auction certificate
- trustee's certificate
- documentation of your status as legal guardian and approval from the County Governor
- lasting power of attorney, confirmed by the County Governor (Norwegian only, sivilrett.no)
When you have submitted the Notification of Sale, an executive officer will review the documentation and approve or reject the Notification of Sale. If the documentation is approved, we will send the Notification of Sale to any other parties to the change of ownership, such as a co-owner, for confirmation.
You can follow the status of your Notification of Sale under "Status of Your Notifications of Sale" on Your Page. We will send you an SMS when the change ownership has been approved or rejected.
