You must pass a theoretical operator's licence test for taxi service before you can apply for a taxi service operator's licence.

About the operator’s licence test

You can take the operator's licence test for taxi service at a Driver and Vehicle Licensing Office (trafikkstasjon).

You take the test on a computer, and it consists of 35 multiple-choice questions. You must answer at least 30 of the questions correctly to pass.

You have up to 60 minutes to complete the test.

Language

You must take the test in Norwegian, and you cannot use an interpreter.

You can have the questions and answer options read out aloud in Norwegian. For this you should ask for headphones, and select the language Norwegian Bokmål.

When will you get the result?

You will get the result displayed on the screen immediately after completing the test. You can also ask the test manager for a printout of the result. The printout will show which topics and questions you answered correctly and incorrectly.

If you fail the test, the printout may be useful when you prepare to re-sit the test.
